Peoples State Bank Unveils Name Change, Modern New Identity
Founded in 1907, Bank Prepares to Grow Toward the Future
Tulsa, Okla.– One of Oklahoma’s oldest banks is getting a bit of a facelift. As it prepares to compete in the highly competitive banking industry, Peoples State Bank changed its name to Peoples Bank, unveiling a new corporate logo and renovating facilities to better serve its customers. Peoples Bank West, located at 5151 S. 33rd West Ave. has full lobby and drive-in services 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Mobile banking and Remote Deposit Capture were added in 2009.
Chartered in 1907 as the Bank of Red Fork under Indian Territory law, the bank is now located at 5th and South Lewis Avenue. The renovation, new name and image change are part of the bank’s vision for the future.
“Peoples Bank is deeply rooted in the history of Tulsa,” said Chairman and CEO David K. Johnson. “But we’re also moving toward the future with online banking and services for high net worth clients as well as hard-working consumers that have been customers here forever. We want our brand to reflect stability and personal service."
Peoples Bank has chosen not to participate in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Customers of Peoples Bank with non-interest bearing accounts will continue to be insured through December 31, 2013 for up to $250,000 under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
